    Central Institute of Hand Tools is an institution which aids the functioning and growth of India’s hand tool industry. Hand tool industry consists of many small scale and cottage enterprises. This industry has the potential to boost the economic growth of the country and create significant number of jobs. So Central Institute of Hand Tool industry provides varied services to help these enterprises. One of the services they provide is calibration service. Calibration services are performed in laboratory facility. CIHT’s lab facility is situated in the city of Jalandhar in Punjab. It is equipped with state of the art technologically advanced instruments. Mechanical calibration processes are undertaken in this facility. Dimensions of vernier calipers and external micrometers are calibrated here. Since its inception it has been providing superior standard of services. This can be attributed to its technological advancements and committed workforce.
