UPL limited currently in its 40th year of advent is a Mumbai, Maharashtra based agrochemical producing company which started out on a smaller scale only equipped for producing red phosphorus. The ranges chemicals such as insecticides, fungicides, herbicides, fumigants, PGR, rodenticides and other industrial chemicals are manufactured and tested here before market outsourcing. The tests carried out in the RD centres of the organisation ensure a quality check for each of its products. These are aimed at determining contents of various organic-metallic compounds in the sample formulations so as to ensure a greater output and an environment friendly operation. It has been recognised globally for its research and toxicology and has received the status of good laboratory practice (GPL). It has operation bases in 123 countries worldwide including Australia, China, France, Germany, US and UK, Japan, etc.
