About Central Environmental Laboratory, Karnataka State Pollution Control Board
Keeping a check on the pollution levels in the state is one of the major responsibilities held by the state government. With an aim to keep the environment safe and healthy for living, Karnataka State Pollution Control Board was established in 1974. Its Central Environmental Laboratory is known for the testing of water and air samples. Its state-of-the-art facility is worth appreciation and is a major contributor to the cleanliness and maintenance of the state. The laboratory is well equipped with modern instruments to conduct chemical tests on air and water. Surface water, ground water and wastewater are tested for the determination of the pH, biological oxygen demand, chemical oxygen demand and the chemical composition.
