    About Central Forensic Science Laboratory, Central Bureau of Investigation, Delhi

    The Forensic Science Laboratory, Delhi is a dynamic multi-disciplinary organization devoted to the ideals of excellence that provides leadership to advance forensic science and its application to the legal system. The objectives of the Laboratory is to promote professionalism, integrity, competency, education, foster interdisciplinary research, embrace new technology, improve practice, nurture young minds and encourage collaboration in the scientific fraternity. Forensic Science Laboratory was approved during 8th Five Year Plan (1992-97) with the purpose to cater to the ever-increasing forensic needs of the Delhi Police and was Inaugurated by Sh. P.K. Dave, the then Lt. Governor of Delhi on 18.02.1995 at 7th / 8th Bn. DAP, police complex, Malviya Nagar, New Delhi-110 017. Initially, the administrative control rested with the Delhi Police.The administrative control of FSL Delhi was transferred from Delhi Police to Home Deptt., Government of NCT of Delhi, on 21.12.1995 with Principal Secy. (Home) as its administrative secretary.FSL, Delhi is accredited by NABL as per ISO/IEC 17025: 2005 since 2008 and regularly improving the quality of system to deliver expeditious, accurate and reliable forensic reports to the police and other customers to serve and strengthen the criminal justice system for greater public satisfaction.
