CENTRAL FORENSIC SCIENCE LABORATORY, SHIMLA is a government laboratory which primarily deals and provides testing services in crime investigation and forensic sciences. The laboratory is located in Railway Board Building, a British Raj architectural structure in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, India. It mainly provides testing services such as Handwriting Testing , Forensic Testing , DNA Testing , testing of Questioned documents,Signatures testing, testing of Type Writings And Printed Matter Including Documents Produced With Toner /Inkjet Technology, Stamp/Seal Impressions testing, Decipherment of Altered/ Obliterated/ Erased/ Secret/ Indentation Writings Testing, Non-Destructive Examination of Paper Including Physical Match of Paper Cuts, Tears and Perforations testing, Identification Of Writing Inks (Non-Destructive) testing as well as COMPUTER FORENSICS which includes Forensic Examination of Computer Hard Disks and Other Digital Storage Media. The laboratory is an NABL accredited and government owned body and serves in public interest
