    About Centre for Advanced Research in Indian System of Medicine

    The Shanmugha Arts, Science, Technology & Research Academy (SASTRA) has established an autonomous multi–disciplinary independent Centre for Advanced Research in Indian System of Medicine (CARISM) in 2004. The Centre for Advanced Research in Indian System of Medicine (CARISM) at SASTRA Deemed University, Tamil Nadu has been approved by the Directorate of Drug Control of Tamil Nadu for carrying out tests for identity, purity, quality and strength of a variety of Ayurvedic and Siddha drugs or raw materials used in the manufacture thereof. CARISM is currently engaged in research for standardization of traditional formulations to cure Arthritis, Leucoderma, Cardiovascular diseases and obesity besides various other research activities. This approval to CARISM symbolizes the achievements of the center hitherto and is recognition to its various state-of-the-art facilities like NMR, HPLC, HPTLC, FTIR, UV Spectrophotometer, GC-MS, Particle Size Analyzer, Polarimeter, etc.
