    About Controllerate of Quality Assurance (Textile & Clothing)

    The Directorate General of Quality Assurance (DGQA) comes under the Department of Defence Production, Ministry of Defence. The Organization aims at providing Quality Assurance cover for Arms, Ammunitions and Armed Forces Supplies. The Organization is also responsible for import substitution with Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO). It provides a platform for promotion of small-scale industries and undertakes investigation regarding any defects. DGQ also acts as a Technical Consultant to the users, Ministry and Production Agencies. The Directorate General of Quality Assurance overlooks quality standards of all items of Textiles and Clothing. Textiles, including Heavy textiles, Tent age stores, Knitted Items undergo a quality check under the DGQA. Establishments of DGQA are widely spread where mainly the Defence Public Sector undertaking and Industrial Base exist.
