    About Drugs Control Laboratory, FDARajan

    The Drugs Control Laboratory, FDA Maharashtra was started in September 1993 and holds the capacity of testing approximately 6500 samples of drugs and cosmetics per year. In addition to this, recently another branch was also established at Aurangabad, which has the capacity of performing 2500 sample tests of drugs and cosmetics per year. The Drugs Control Laboratory, Mumbai received the NABL accreditation certificate in the fields of Biological and Chemical testing. It has also received the ISO/IEC/17025:2005 accreditation. Some of their major functions include analyzing different drugs, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, etc. being produced in the country, analyzing new drugs before providing them the manufacturing license, analyzing different kinds of import drugs and cosmetics, undertake a wide variety of analytical research in order to gain standardization of drugs, and much more. All their laboratories are equipped with various state-of-the-art instrument and machinery that provide the guarantee that each test performed by Drugs Control Laboratory gives the best results.
