    About Hydro Machinery Development station, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited

    Bharat Heavy Electronics Limited, known to be the largest electrical engineering and manufacturing enterprise in India, was incorporated in the year 1964. Apart from India, BHEL is also considered to be one of the leading international companies in power equipment manufacturing field. The Hydro Machinery Development Station of BHEL, located at Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, consists of laboratories that designing and manufacturing of hydro turbines. These turbines are then supplied to the central BHEL plant for their further use. Variety of hydro turbine developmental and contractual performance tests like aeration test, axial thrust, cavitation, cavitation visualization, hydraulic efficiency, pressure pulsation, etc., are conducted at the BHEL's own laboratory – Hydro Machinery Development station. The HMDS laboratory of Bharat Heavy Electronics Limited has been accredited with ISO/IEC 17025:2005 NABL accreditation.
