    About Material Testing Laboratory, The Gujarat Institute of Civil Engineers & Architects,Ahmedabad

    The Gujarat Institute Civil Engineers and Architects, located in Ahmedabad, was set up in 1947 as a non-governmental organization registered under charitable trust and society. The organization membership consists of about 4300 professionals like Civil engineers, Architects, Town planners, Structural Engineers and Contractors to name a few. The main aim of GICEA was to provide a platform where the knowledge and experience of Civil Engineering could be shared and enriched. The organization consists of many facilities, one of the most notable ones being the F.M. Patwa GICEA Material Testing Laboratory. To give an enriched, all-around experience and promote quality standards, this laboratory was set up to test various Construction materials like cement, steel, aggregates, tiles, cement blocks etc. The laboratory is approved by the Airport Authority of India, Sardar Sarovar Narmada Nigam Limited, a Government of Gujarat undertaking.
