The Food Quality Testing Laboratory(FQTL) of NAU is a not-for-profit government laboratory established in Southern Gujarat for providing a platform to address the problems of farmers, consumers, researchers, students and academicians who are directly or indirectly affected by food quality.
The laboratory is divided into four sections viz., Pesticide residues, Heavy Metal, Biochemistry and Microbiology. Each section contains its own well-furnished laboratory equipped with highly sensitive equipments like High Performance Liquid Chromatograph(HPLC), Gas Chromatograph(GC), Gas Chromatograph Mass Spectrometer(GC-MS), Near Infrared Spectroscopy, UV-Visible Spectrophotometer, Fluorescent Microscope, etc. The FQTL is capable of analyzing the pesticide residues, biochemical, elemental and nutritional components, microbial analysis etc. from finished as well as raw agricultural commodities.
FQTL also provides courses to UG and PG students along with requirement based training to industry people, academicians and researchers about food testing.
FQTL is ISO/IEC 17025:2005 accrediated by NABL in the field of chemical testing.
