About Naval Explosive Radiography Centre, Naval Armament Inspectorate
The Naval Armaments Inspectorate was established on 05 February, 1952, Cochin, Kerala under the aegis of Commodore-in-Charge, Southern Naval Command(C-in-C SNC).
The weaponry in the Indian Navy, i.e. Naval Armament(NA) stores, comprise the entire range of gun ammunition, torpedoes, missiles, mines and other explosive materials. The reliable performance of these weaponry during the prescribed shelf life is vital and simultaneously, the safety of these stores during storage and during disposal is also a major concern considering the safety of men and material.
The Naval Armament Inspection (NAI) is responsible for inspection of quality assessment of NA stores at -
Naval Armament Depots during storage, issue and final disposal of Naval Armament Stores (NAS).
Various production agencies like Ordnance Factories, PSUs and private firms for successful production and delivery of Naval Armament Stores.
Platforms for undertaking routine inspection of the existing launchers or during installation.
The Naval Armaments Inspectorate commenced FATS(Factory Acceptance Trials) as per the Indian Navy standards in July 2008.
