    About NDT Center, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited

    BHEL is a renowned name in India as it is a significant public sector entity which undertakes various activities like designing, engineering, manufacturing, testing commissioning and servicing. Under the management of BHEL a research institute was set and was named wielding research Institute. It is primarily responsible for conducting R and D for wielding processes, undertaking metallurgical investigations and providing consultancy services. This research institute has a laboratory for testing and evaluation of welds and casting. This laboratory is situated in Hyderabad, Telangna and conducts tests to detect flaws in welds and cast. For this purpose they conduct 3 tests using cobalt 360 source, using Ir- 920 source and using X ray source. Their laboratory facility is equipped with state of the art technologies and has been providing reliable and accurate test results since its induction.
