    About Nepal Bureau of Standards and Metrology, Chemical Laboratory

    Nepal Bureau of Standards & Metrology(NBSM) is the National Standards Body of Nepal. It functions under the Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Nepal. Under the "Nepal Standard (Certification Mark) Act 2037", Nepal Council for Standards (NCS) was formed as the governing body for Quality, Standards, Testing and Metrology (QSTM) activities in Nepal and NBSM acts as the secretariat to this council. NBSM has various departments for effective functioning viz. Quality control and Laboratory Department, Physical Quality Control Section, Physical Laboratory Section, Chemical and other quality Control Section, Textile, leather and paper Laboratory Section, Chemical and microbiology Laboratory Section, Scientific Metrology Department, Scientific Metrology Section, Planning and Training Section, WTO\TBT and international relations section. NBSM is involved in various national and international projects in the field of infrastructure, economic capacity building, standardization and trade.
