About Orient Cement Limited, Quality Control Laboratory (CGU)
Orient Cement Limited was separated from Orient Paper and Industries in the year 2012, but back in the year 1982 itself, Orient cement’s plant was already built at Telangana, and cement production had already started back then. Presently, it has a capacity of 8 MTPA, and is aspiring to reach the capacity level of 15 MTPA by 2020. IT has received numerous certifications like ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004, and OHSAS 18001:2007 from Det Norske Veritas, Netherlands. The quality control laboratory at Orient Cement Limited performs various types of chemical and mechanical tests to ensure that the quality of cement remains top-notch. Tests like Density, Specific Surface, Normal Consistency, Initial Setting time, Final Setting time, Soundness by Le-Chatelier method, Autoclave Expansion, Compressive Strength, and Drying Shrinkage, are performed on building materials like cement. In addition to this, chemical tests like loss on ignition, insoluble residue material, SiO2 content, CaO content, etc., are performed on cement.
