It does not primarily focus on profit, its objective is to empower the society through science. It mainly caters to hotels, restaurants, food retailers, food distributors, food exporter, food courts, food packers, food processing and facility management companies as quality of food is of great significance to this industry. For testing purposes it has a laboratory which is situated in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. It provides testing for materials like raw materials, perishable items, frozen food items, ready to eat food items, cooked and dairy food items. Along with that it also provides tests for microorganisms for all food groups. It also provides tests for drinking water. It contributes to science based food safety solutions to benefit all groups, from 5 star facilities to small food stall vendors.
