    About Pesticide Residue Laboratory, CSIR-National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (NEERI),

    National Environmental Engineering Research Institute, established in the year 1974 is a constituent of council of scientific and industrial research (CSIR). It was initially engaged in researching into matters like water supply, sewage disposal, industrial pollution and communicable diseases, later it expanded its scope areas like environmental concerns, pesticide control being one of the environmental concerns which this organisation deals in. They have set up a laboratory inNagpur, Maharashtra which provides testing facilities for ground water and surface water to check for pesticide contamination. They undertake tests to check water for content of organochlorine present in it. This organisation aims to create a sustainable environment and providing clean water for drinking and agriculture is also one of its objectives.
