    About Pesticide Residue Laboratory, Tea Research Association

    West Bengal, being one of the best tea producer states of India, holds the responsibility of maintaining the quality of tea it provides. Being an agricultural product, tea leaves needs to be free of the pesticides being used in the fields. The Pesticide Residue Laboratory in Kolkata, West Bengal was established with an aim to provide tests for the estimation of residual pesticide chemicals in tea. It provides a wholesome analysis of tea and helps maintain the quality of tea. It supports the estimation of chemicals like organochlorines, organophosphates, synthetic pyrethroides, neonicotinoides and carbamates in tea samples. Additionally, other contaminations like crude fibre content; moisture content and iron fillings content are also estimated in this laboratory.
