In addition to operations related to quality assurance, located in Madhya Pradesh the organisation is accountable for import substitution and is involved in construction initiatives with the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO). Also in several exciting new areas, DGQA is foraying. This organization is over 100 years old and provides coverage of Quality Assurance (QA) for the entire range of arms, ammunition, equipment and stores supplied to the Armed Forces. In addition to QA activities, the organization is responsible for the substitution of imports and associates in development projects with the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO). It also guarantees Documentation, Codification and Standardization Action to minimize component / equipment range.
