A 3 MW solar photovoltaic (PV) power plant was commissioned in Noamundi, with due account for Tata Steel's carbon footprint reduction projects. This is the first solar power plant in a country's iron ore mine. The Tata Power Solar project will contribute to a CO2 reduction of about 3000 tons per year.
