Indian Oil Corporation Limited has long been catering to the energy needs of India. The Guwahati Refinery was established on the day of 1st Jan 1962, at Noonmati in Guwahati, and has a colossal capacity of 1.0 million metric tons per annum. Their primary job is to process the crude oil being derived from the Upper Oil Fields of Assam. Being the first public sector refinery of India, as it belongs to the Indian Oil Corporation Limited, Guwahati refinery follows the very best of methods to ensure that their products are of the superlative degree by performing various types of tests on their products. Their major focus is to perform a chemical examination of the petroleum products so as to gain insight about their density, distillation, total sulfur amount, smoke point, kinematic viscosity, Abel flash point, lubrication, total flash point, etc., which helps in having a clear view about their usefulness and suitability. It is an ISO/IEC 17025:2005 accredited laboratory.
