Historic resolution (64/L.63/Rev.1) proclaimed the "ability to safe and clean potable water
and peace for the complete enjoyment of life and human rights," the United Nations
General Assembly adopted. PWD (DWS) Dream, Govt. "Safer drinking water for everyone,
every day" is Tripura.
The PWD (DWS) goal, Govt. Tripura should provide each citizen with adequate, safe water
on a sustainable basis for drinking, cooking and other basic domestic needs. This basic
requirement should meet minimum water requirements and should always and in all cases
be readily and conveniently available. Water for drinking and cooking should be of good
quality in accordance with the prescribed BIS standards and the water should be acceptable
for other household and animal requirements.
Good health is important, not only in terms of overall wellbeing but also in our personal and
social life. It is important to ensure good safety. Hygiene is one of the basic indicators of the
quality of life and the measure of human development. The Prime Minister of India, Shri
Narendra Modi, initiated the Swachh Bharat (SBM) Mission on 2 October 2014 with the aim
of opening a defecation-free (ODF) India on 2 October 2019, to mark the 150th anniversary
of Mahatma Gandhi. To intensify its efforts to achieve a universal missionary sanitation
coverage, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. The Ministry of Drinking Water and Health is
the rural project director for the SBM overall–Swachh Bharat Grammeen Project (SBM-G).
The coverage of India's rural sanitation improved from 39% in 2014 to more than 99% as of
June 2019 since the release of the SBM.
