In order to provide healthy and accessible drinking water for rural India, the Department of
Drink Waters and Sanitation offers technical and financial assistance to the States. The
department's Centrally Sponsored Program (NRDWP) currently focuses on supplying the
rural people in India with access to drinking water. By 2024, it seeks to provide all rural
homes with domestic piped water by focussing on small-scale, community-built irrigation
systems to ensure conservation by groundwater refueling and sewage recycling, as much as
feasible. State Referral Institute of water quality is under Kerala Water Authority an
Autonomous Authority under Government of Kerala.
This authority was established, in accordance with Section 16 of the Act, by vesting, as far as
the execution of the water supply and sewage schemes in accordance with section 18 of the
Act, the properties and properties, rights and liabilities of local authorities, as well as that of
the Kerala State Rural Development Board in the son, in accordance with the provisions of
