    About Test Lab, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, Transport Aircraft Division

    Hindustan Aeronautics Limited was first incorporated in the year 1940, under the name Hindustan Aircraft Company at Bangalore. In the present day, HAL is an integral part of the Aeronautical industry of India. This government-owned organization presently produces about 29 different varieties of aircrafts and many other products like power plants, avionics, system, and accessories etc. The Transport Aircraft Division of HAL or TAD was established in 1960, at Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. It helps in keeping a strong check on the manufacturing, maintenance, modification, and upgrade of a wide variety of light transport aircraft as well as trainer aircraft, for the domestic and international markets. They are also competent enough in various testing facilities like non-destructive, mechanical, and chemical testing, on products like petroleum oil, lubricants, ferrous alloys and metals, non-ferrous materials, aluminum alloys, and many more. The test lab at TAD is ISO/IEC 17025:2005 accredited.
