Ordnance Equipment factory has been serving the Indian army and air force by fulfilling their requirements for clothes, tentages and equipments. This factory is located in Hazratpur, Firozabad in UP and has been into this business since 1983. Army and airforce departments requires sturdy and durable materials for use and to ensure that the quality is maintained for all the things produced in this facility, a laboratory has been set up there itself. This laboratory is technologically advanced and is capable of conducting chemical and mechanical testing on textile products. Chemical tests are undertaken to check the quality of the product on certain parameters such as colour fastness to washing with soda or soap, fastness to perspiration, sea water, rubbing, organic solvents and many others. Mechanical tests are done on the other hand to check the quality of the products on some other parameters such as width of woven fabrics, threads per unit length, breaking load of braided nylon cords for aerospace purpose, breaking strength of coated and treated fabrics and many others. This laboratory assures the quality of textiles and tentages which is of great significance for the army and airforce professionals because they need their materials to withstand harsh conditions.
