The Textile Research And Development Centre or TRADC is a part of the Birla Cellulose that is widely renowned for being the world’s largest viscose staple fiber or MMF. The Birla Cellulose was started in the year 1940 with the vision of the Aditya Birla Group expanding their reach into the textile world by developing a suitable alternative to the cotton and polyester, the MMF. The TRADC center basically looks after the innovation process, quality development, increase in the efficiency, recipe formulation, and technology transfer; thus providing a comprehensive R & D platform for the production of Viscose Staple Fibre (MMF). Tests like determining the linear density, width, and thickness, twist, threads per inch, etc., of yarn and fabric, are being performed at the Textile Research And Development Centre. This NABL accredited lab has received numerous certifications like ISO/IEC 17025:2005, ISO 9001, ISO 9002, ISO 14001, FSC Chain of Custody Certificate, and much more.
